Roll Clyde Charity Tournament Team

Thanks to the above league players for participating in a charity tournament on Saturday, November 3, to help with the medical expenses for Clyde Adams, age 23, who was involved in a motorcyle accident on September 7. As he was traveling to Gatlinburg, TN, an unknown motorcyclist ran Clyde off of the road and into a grassy field. Although he initially had control of his motorcycle, there was a ditch that proved too great for him to ride out and he crashed. He was flown by LifeFlight to Atlanta Medical Center where he underwent surgery on his back to repair a fractured T7 vertebra and to realign T8. He spent 13 days at Atlanta Medical Center before he was transferred to Shepherd Spinal Center where he is participating in intense therapy with all hope that he will one day walk again. The Spinal Center released him for the day to attend the tournament, and he gave the opening prayer.

We raised $485, not including food purchased at the game and other donations made by members not participating. Our guys braved early morning hours and cold temperatures for a very honorable cause. They lost both games because they were playing against 20 year olds - there were no other senior teams playing. At least those young guys know you can grow older and still play! These guys are ALL WINNERS for showing up and playing hard and having fun.
